God’s love reaches you, even when you’re heading in the wrong direction. Yes, even when you go right opposite of His plan for you. God is already preparing the road ahead for you.
“The Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah and he was inside the fish for three days and three nights…And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.” Jonah 2:10, 17
Have you ever thought of the fish as being God’s provision and protection for Jonah? I always thought of it as punishment.
But now I see it a a rescue plan. It was a repositioning plan. It was a redirection plan. It was God’s love for him and His desire to see him fulfill his calling.
It was the “where” and “how” that Jonah experienced God’s faithfulness for himself.
“But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.” Jonah 2:9
It is where Jonah said, “I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: And my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.”
Jonah 2:6-7
God loves you, even when you make poor choices. He rescues you from those decisions. And He provides a way of escape for you to get back.
If you are in a difficult time right now, what if it is the “where” and “how” that enables you to experience God’s faithfulness in your life? What if this is your moment to accept the call of God on your life?
When you see it and when you can’t this great God is pursuing you. And He is faithful to rescue you from the belly of disaster. He will redirect you.
Today, I pray this for you! I pray even in your wrong choices, even in your regrets, that you will cry out to the Lord. And I pray you receive His deliverance.
